Question:

Yahoo LAUNCHcast music thing.?

For some reason, I can't hear any music that the player says it's playing. I hear sounds from my computer when I go back and forth from each page, so I know the sound is working. And I checked the volume on my computer, the 'sound' thing on the start bar next to the little clock, and my volume is turned up to full blast. Any help? It says it's playing, but no noise.

  1. This could be because you're trying to listen to Yahoo! LAUNCHcast at a bandwidth higher than your current network connection supports. You can change your connection settings to a lower bandwidth by selecting the "low" or "medium" stream quality in the Yahoo! Launchcast Player window.

If you're surfing to other web sites or pages while you play your station, loading those web pages reduces the amount of bandwidth available to stream music to your computer.

Another cause for skipping could be that your computer's processor is maxed out. Try quitting other applications while you are listening to Yahoo! LAUNCHcast.

For optimal performance, try adjusting the Windows Media Player's buffering:

Go to the Start menu in Windows and select "Run."

Type "mplayer2" to launch Windows Media Player.

Pull down the View menu and select "Options."

    Go to the Advanced tab.

Select "Streaming Media (Windows Media)" and click "Change."

Increase buffering to "30 seconds of data."

    Click "OK."

Close and relaunch your Yahoo! Launchcast Player.
