Yahoo Messenger unable to connect?

Question

my problem is whenever i tried logging in yahoo messenger it say "There was a problem signing into yahoo messenger" even i typed a wrong password/username.

There could be a couple of problems.

--> Do you have a Firewall installed?  Is it blocking the port Yahoo connects through?  (I don't have a copy of Yahoo to work with, but you should be able to find it through a settings menu somewhere, or maybe your Firewall will tell you what it's blocking and that will correspond with when you try to connect to Yahoo.)

--> Is your copy of Yahoo corrupted?  Did you turn off the antivirus / antimalware when you installed it?  Sometimes those programs can stop other programs from being installed properly - it can't tell the difference between good software and bad software.

--> Occam's Razor - the server may be down. Try back later.  (Although I highly doubt this is the case.)

You may also want to try a free program called Trillian which allows you to have multiple AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and ICQ accounts logged in from the same program. You can download it at www.trillian.cc. I like the program much better - eliminates having to have individual messangers up, and allows you to have Yahoo up at the same time for work, school, family at the same time.
