Question:

Yahoo Music/Launchcast?

So, we rate songs, artists and albums we like. Yes, I know it's free, but there are all those adds for trying the pay version. Why, then, do they keep playing songs that are "Recommended by Yahoo Music" when I have rated those genres as "Never Play Again"? I mean if you're trying to get me to try a product, don't show me examples of it I don't like. I thought the whole rating system helped it recommend and thus play songs I actually want to hear. If the sales pitch demo is that frequently wrong, how bad will the pay-for product be?

How does that marketing technique even make sense?

  1. yeah i push the NEVER PLAY AGAIN button on most of the rap songs & rap artist  they still play them sometimes & and some i let the recommended by yahoo songs go by and don't rate them until they come around again also it's kinda bad when the song you rated doesn't play & it only has 2 ** on the top where it has the song name when i started using launchcast i wsn' sure how the rating system worked & you never know when your favorite song is 2 pop up when it does it doesn't play but the next tiem around it does and your so happy 2 hear it i switch the song ratings back & forth from

    2 ** to 3**

  2. You can only rate a song "Never Play Again" not a whole genre.  You have to keep rating every one they play "Never Play Again.

They want us to get the paid service so the ads won't stop.  I won't pay.  Besides it slows my computer down bad.
