Question:

Yahoo Music Unlimited error?

When trying to play a song in Windows Media Player I get this message. "Yahoo Music Unlimited: Protected Content. You've accessed a song or file which is secured and requires purchase as download or subscription for complete access."

I have been using the service for over 2 years. The songs say subscription next to them in my music on YMU but they still will not play. I have deleted them and added them back in, closed and opened the program, re-booted the computer, and they still do not work. I have YMU version 2.2.2.056 on Windows XP Home edition. Thanks for any help you can provide. Robert

  1. We dont want Pirates stealing our songs that are worth money to yahoo

  2. Don't be fooled by the "subscription" part of the message.  DRM (digital rights management) is not your friend.  You don't really own the song unless (under YMJ) you see the fire icon which means it is burnable.  Otherwise you are really leasing the songs for as long as you have the Yahoo subscription.  You'll have to use YMJ to play your downloaded music which has not been purchased.   :(
