Question:

Yahoo Unlimited Music.?

I started my free two week trial of Yahoo! Music Unlimited. It stated that I could download music and burn CDs with the music that I downloaded. I even though I am paying the fee every month, why do I have to buy the songs. Am I doing it right or is this the way it is. Also ever since I download this my Yahoo! Messenger plug in for the launchcast is not working very well. When I click on stations it gives me a sub-menu but when I go to click on genres or themes nothing happens. There is not a second sub-menu. I have reinstalled Yahoo! Messenger but nothing works. Thank you in advance for answering my two questions.

  1. From Yahoo Messenger, click Add plug-ins, in the My Plug-ins tab, stop them restart the Yahoo Music. It should play the station again. If not, delete and then re-add Yahoo Music.

  2. Your YMU subscription allows you to, in effect, RENT music.  You can download music to your computer (and to your compatible mp3 player if you buy the To Go option) and play it, but the music tracks are tethered to their licenses which need to be refreshed monthly.  You cannot burn these tracks to a CD because you don't own them, you are only renting them.

For tracks you do want to own and be able to burn to a CD, the cost per track is 79 cents if you subscribe to YMU, or 99 cents if you do not.  These tracks are not attached to a license, however, they may be restricted as to how often you can burn them.
