Yahoo and msn contact appearing online on one but not the other?

ive been having a lot of msn issues today haha. maybe the fact it was an older version had something to do with it i dunno. but i added a hotmail address to my yahoo incase msn wasnt working and i saw them sign onto the yahoo one but i checked the msn and they werent online..is it still a glitch in msn or am i just being kindaaa dumb bout it haha?

it could be because they have to add you, or could be that on msn they are signing in as offline, or could be a glitch.
