What actions does Yahoo do to people who post spam to Yahoo groups. I have had many people with e-mail addresses that end in .info send spam to groups and I have reported this to Yahoo, but then I see them posting again time after time after I have reported them to Yahoo. Yahoo also says they can not disclose what actions they take against these spammers. To me that means that they take no action at all. HOw do you stop these spammers?

  1. You might also consider putting moderation on first posts.  If  their first post is spam, ban them.  Works for me.

  2. info addresses are alot of spammers but some or not. Yahoo cant always control outside spammer and the best way is to use the tools a group alows you like restricted membership and moderate new members.

I would not suggest to all owners to hide e-mail addresses. mine has been exposed for years in Yahoo groups and I do not get spam. if you allow hiding of addresses, then you have no address to report

  3. Unofrtunately, Yahoo has a poor anti-spamming system. I have long given up trying to report these spammers who resurface again and again and again. Best thing to do is not allow non-members to you group send you messages. Likewise, do not diclose your email address in your group site (or any other site for that matter, even in chat rooms).^^,
