Question:

Yahoo censoring?

Hi, After posting over 500 answers with no violations, i received my first one for simply giving a few pertinent Bible verses to a question about Joel Osteen's only - positive preaching (the verses were not positive: Is. 30:10; 2Tim. 4:3). The violation said that it was "Not an answer" though it certainly was. And as i found out, appealing it just means they send you to a forum.

I chose to let that go, but now i find that every single time i try to post on a Catholic or Mormon question (in which i express a Biblical view) with links in the body or the Source section, i get a "unable to process request at this time -- error 999," I have checked this out, even on different days and times. and it is consistent.

But i can different links like http://www.murraymoffatt.com/software-problem-0011.html

Or in asking a ?, as below are links they exclude.

  1. 2 days ago I asked if there was a mythological god of smuggling or piratry and it was removed. Yesterday I reposted it with slightly different wording and it has stayed up. We'll see what happens to this...

  2. First of all, you are placing blame where it doesn't belong.

Yahoo does not "report" you, it's individual people or "users". It takes at least two "reports" to get a question or answer removed.

That's why when you get a violation notice, you have the right to appeal. Yahoo only gets involved in the appeal process. If they find that it is, in fact a violation of "Community Guidelines" and "TOS", then the violation stands, but if they don't then the question or answer is reposted.

  3. You can get a "violation " for anything that someone thinks deserves it. All it takes is two reports and it can be removed. I have seen some pretty offensive answers and postings that have stayed up for a long time. I guess it's up to the all mighty "Yahoo Gods" to decide.

  4. i THINK IT HAS MORE TO DO WITH YOUR POSTING WEBSITES THAN ANSWERING FROM YOUR HEAD,HEART AND EXPERIENCE. IF AFTER READING THEIR GUIDELINES YOU STILL FEEL THEY ARE UNFAIR, APPEAL TO THE HIGHEST AUTHORITY. YOU KNOW OF WHOM I SPEAK.
