Yahoo groups and IP addresses?

Question

It is my understanding that the moderator of a yahoo group can see IP addresses. Does it only show on posts you post or is it linked to your name? In other words, if I delete my posts will my IP vanish as well?

I'm not a troll I just don't trust these people.

IP addresses of members can't be seen in the group even by moderators when your group owner has set your group to "Allow members to hide their email address" . You can suggest to your group owner to activate this feature to provide utmost privacy among group members. If you wanted to post and don't want your IP address to be visible, you can post via group's homepage.
