Question:

Yahoo groups and moderators?

Ok, I just got into it with a moderator of a local sale, trade, and buy group, all postings must be approved first, a few days ago I posted some coats and then I decided to put them on ebay, I then tried to post on the group that if they wanted to buy one I would refund the shipping money since they could just pick up, the mod sent me an email saying I couldnt post that because it was selling through a third party, ok fine, but then she went on to say and plus, the address is not a local one so nobody could pick it up anyways, I then replied that, that was fine, but I just moved so the pick up would have been local, then I got a rude reply saying who cares where you lived before, I know for a fact that if you lived here it would say so on your ebay account, blah blah blah, I told her she was rude and condescending, can I get kicked out of the group for that? and is there any way to report a moderator? Thank you :o)

  1. cant fight S****y hall

  2. you can become removed from a group for far less than that. Yahoo does not regulate what group owners rules are, or who they decide who can or cant be members. it doesn't matter if this was the owner, or the moderator doing their job. you cany report anyone, they did nothing wrong.

it sounds like a misunderstanding between you and that group

  3. is she the owner of a group, or just a moderator? If she is not group owner than I would contact the owner and let her know what has happened. I'm not sure how involved yahoo gets with the groups, I know I own one and have never heard a word from them.

  4. The owner of that group can remove or ban you as a member for any reason (or no reason at all) if she wants to. A group owner usually has the last say regarding what goes on in their group and Yahoo won't intervene..  You can report her using the Yahoo Groups Help form but don't get your hopes up that she might be reprimanded.  Here is link to that form:

Personally, I would just find another like group, join it and leave her group.  That would keep you from being stressed about the whole situation.  ;-)
