Yahoo groups are accesible to yahoo mail address users only?

Can a user of other e-mail address than yahoo.com become a member of a yahoo group?

yes. if they have a yahoo ID, they can add an additional address to that account- step one below

if they do not have a yahoo ID, they's join via the subscribe address of the group

1) go to this link- http://groups.yahoo.com/myprefs click add email address on top left- follow steps and confirm address.

2) then go to this link http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups click edit my groups on the top left- locate group (if there's more than one) under the column Email Address click the arrow for the drop down box and select new address- click save changes

Yes, they can, but they don’t get access to all the group's web features such as Photos, Files, Links, Polls and Calendar sections.

if you don't have a yahoo membership, you can become a member of the group's mailing list, and will be able to send and receive e-mails to the group, but you won't be able to log in, view files, photos, archived messages, vote in polls etc

it's easy enough to set up a yahoo address, then forward all e-mails to another address through it, and set group mails to go to that e-mail address
