what does "bouncing" mean? one of my members are bouncing and i need to know why they are bouncing and what it is

  1. Bouncing means when messages are sent from Yahoo Group to a member and cannot be delivered to their email address. Here are a few reasons for this:  Some members' email inboxes are over quota "full" and cannot receive more.  Some internet service providers have problems with Yahoo email and will not allow Yahoo messages go through to their customers' email addresses.  Some members have not paid their internet service bill and their email accounts are shut down until payment is received.  There's a lot of different reasons.

    In your group, click Members on left side of page. At the top of the list, click on Bouncing.  This will give you a list of all currently bouncing members. To the right of member's name and in the Bounce Status column, click on View History and scroll down to bottom. You will see reason for bouncing.

    No, you cannot bounce members yourself.  That is strictly a Yahoo email service function.


  2. here's a whole page on bouncing. it more or less means there's an issue with the members e-mail and the post get bounced back to the server than delivered.

    no one person can 'make' a member bouce.
