Question:

Yahoo homepage not updating news, sports etc.?

My yahoo homepage hasn't been updated in over 5 days, it's showing old news stories, sports scores etc. I'm using the old version of yahoo (not the beta) but I don't want to switch to beta because it doesn't fit on my computer screen (when I change the screen resolution the text is way too small to read)

any tips how to get the yahoo homepage to update?

  1. Hello

Here are maintenance items for My Yahoo! Classic for Internet Explorer users, to ensure your system is processing components of the Yahoo! site.

___1. On Internet Explorer (IE) menu click 'Tools', click 'Internet Options', click 'General' tab, at 'Browsing history' click 'delete' temporary files, click 'OK' to exit. Repeat periodically. With email or internet usage weekly or monthly temporary file deletion is recommended.

___2. Increase the browser disk space allotment. On the menu again click 'Tools', click 'Internet Options', click 'General' tab, scroll to browsing history, set 'Disk space usage' at 250MB or 500MB, click 'OK' to finish.

___3. If you're using XP some systems did not ship with Java. Download and install the latest version at http://www.java.com/

___4. Many Yahoo! advertisements are Flash Player oriented and you may need to install the newest version http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer

Yahoo! Classic is going away.  It may be time to move to the new My Yahoo!.

    Best wishes,

    pup

  2. The answer from  CJ is clearly wrong.

We are talking about a case where ONLY the sports are not updated!  Further, Yahoo does not bother to even warn its users!

His instructions largely apply to Windows machines;  accessing on a different, MAC computer, shows the same bad data management.
