Yahoo messenger?

I started with yahoo 7.o then on to Beta now we have 360 how the heck can i get rid of the others and still communicate with those that do not have 360 updated yet, This is confusing please give me some ideas. Thanks

  1. Yahoo! 360 is not an instant messaging service. It is a social networking service, which does have some IM features. Don't lump Y!360 in with the various versions of Messenger and that will help with your confusion.     Yes, there was a Yahoo! Messenger version 7, then version 8.1 (and others in between), and if you choose you can now use version 9 beta. Products go through upgrades, but your version doesn't prevent you from chatting with people who have older versions. It just means that you may have some advanced features that they won't have unless they upgrade.

    If you want to remove previous versions of Messenger, go to your computer's Control Panel. Then, find the Add/Remove Programs (or Programs - Programs and Features in Vista). Select the version of Yahoo! Messenger that you want to remove and choose to do so.
