  1. What will happen after the 9th is there will be no "Adult" profiles on Yahoo!.

They assume that your profile is marked "Adult" because of the photo, so the PHOTO will be removed from your profile on April 9th.  Your profile will otherwise remain intact.  This is why there is a link provided that tells you how to save that photo, if you want to keep it.

IF, however, you marked your profile as "Adult" because you wanted it only available to users over age 18, and NOT because you have a questionable profile photo (which is my case), then simply edit your profile, and remove the 'Adult' classification from it.  Then your picture will not be affected on April 9th.

  2. i got the same notification and i'm not sure if the 'removal' is strictly related to the profile photo or to the entire profile, but i believe the reason is due to it being listed as 'adult'.

i sent off a query to yahoo! customer care yesterday and received this answer:

Were making some changes that will affect Yahoo! profiles. After April 9, 2008, mature content will not be permitted within Yahoo! Profiles.

Inaccordance with this new policy, users will no longer be able to designate an "adult profile," and mature content will be removed. If your profile is currently marked as "adult", your profile will remain

    assuch until April 9, 2008.

The answer given really didn't answer anything so i'll be calling for further clarification today..will post what they said on the phone.  i'm hoping its a simple case of changing the designation of my profile from 'adult' to a regular profile (option found in profile edit), but in the meantime..am going to copy all my archives and any information i want to keep.
