Everytime I use YAHOO to search, it works. But when I click on a result to go to a website, it redirects me to ads, p**n, or something else I dont want. I tried, ADWARE, SEACH AND DESTROY and even bought SPY SWEEPER, but none have helped the problem.

The URL is rds.yahoo. I have active X enabled, but I cant seem to get rid of this. Id there a way to delete the spyware?

I am using another search engine right now, and it works fine but I would like to go back to YAHOO. Also, befrore it redirects me, I get a, "CONTIUNE" button that pops up on my browser. It says up for about .10th of a sec. I cant click on it.

Please help me with this probem, since this laptop is about a week old an I already have a virus.

Thanks.

  1. These can be a real pain to get rid of.  You can try going into safe mode and running your anti-virus/ad/malware scans.

Reboot your computer into safe mode. (You can do this by pressing the F8 key repeatedly as the computer boots up. You should see the "Windows Advanced Options Menu".

Use your arrow keys to select "Safe Mode" and hit enter.)

Once the scans are completed. Reboot as per normal and verify that the problems has been erradicated.

I personally run these on a weekly basis (in full / deep scan mode):  I recently added:

    A-Squared Free (free)

    http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free...

to my arsenal of protective software.  It seems to be a bit better than the others that I run.

Hope this helps solve the issue
