Yahoo touble

I just bought a notebook so i wanted to download yahoo messenger. Everytime i try or get to like 30 or 40 % it goes back to 1 % the when i finally do make it to 100 it pauses and then goes back to one. I really dont know how fix this and if it helps i have windows vista. Any help would be awesome.
