  1. These are both great rack systems with lots of accessories.  I am sure you'll be delighted with either.

Both Yak and Thule have fitting guides on their websites.  Go through their configurators and they'll give you a list of parts you need.

In general, both rack systems have the following components:

    1. Towers - These are the upright pieces.

    2. Clips for your car - The towers sit on these feet that are made just for your model of car.  They are pretty inexpensive, so you can buy the rest off ebay or craigslist and go pick up a new clips at REI or your local retailer.

    3. Crossbars

    4. Bike mounts

For some two door cars, there may also be a stretch kit or extender.  The configurator will tell you if it is necessary.

You may also need and want a fairing to reduce wind noise and wind resistance.

    Hope this helps.

  2. I have only had Yakimas but I think both are high quality.

I do have a civic coupe (with a yakima rack).  You can order the rack off of ebay and order the specialized Q-Clips from the web.  The rack itself will have more or a slope (instead of being mostly horizontal) because coupes cause the Q towers to be closer together.  I only run bike racks but if I remember correctly if you want all of the options you will need an extention kit.

The Q towers will attach on the top of the door frame at the front of the door (an inch or two behind the windshield) and the back of the door (almost near the top corner).

I would look on yakima.com to check the options you have for your coupe.

    Good luck!

  3. Both are good quality.  The Thule is stronger because of the heavier crossbars but the round bars on the Yakima will have less drag and won't cut unto your fuel economy as much.  If all you are carrying is bikes the strength isn't an issue.  I prefer the Yakima because it is american made.  With either one you might have to buy a vehicle specific mounting kit.
