Yakima roof top ski rack help..?

Question

I have a Yakima roof top ski rack (just the racks, no hardware, bought them used), My suv has the bars on top already, how do I attach the rack to the bars? Is there a part i need to buy to attach them?

you need a set of mightymites. they wrap around your factory bars and your skirack attaches to them. they cost about $20/set and can be found at any yakima dealer. they are also used to mount a bike rack so you only need one set of mm's for all of your roof racks

If your SUV has a rack already using the Yakima rack is redundant. You might check your vehicle against the Yakima database for your model.

We recently bought a Thule for my wife's sub-compact, we needed clips and the bars because we had no existing rack.

If your rack has bars you can use your factory cross bars and generally these are adjustable.

Then you'd only need to purchase the load carrier of your choice from Yakima or Thule. The load carrier comes with attachment U-Bolts for the racks.
