Yakubu (Everton) or Alves (Boro)?

for sutrisno above this answer.... how can you say things have gone wrong since alves came to boro ??? first he needed to settle in obviously , his stats are 16 appearances for boro with 6 goals.  and i dont no the exact number but some of them appearences are from the bench, so i think 6 goals for is good up to now.

and for the main question yes from what we have saw from yakubu in the english league he is better than alves but he has had more time in the league to get better. alves will score alot this season i predict .thanks:)

Yak! he is an amazing finisher who can also fight for the ball himself; he just score his one hundred goal 2 days ago.

:P Not being a sabotager, I'll tell you honestly that Yakubu is not only a better player but he is surrounded by players of better quality.

Alves.Yakubu has to bear all the goalscoring responsiblilities by himself whereas Alves can link up well with Tuncay,and sometimes,Mido and Aliadiere.

Great question.  I think that both strikers have the ability to take over a game with their presence up front.  Alves is new to the Premier League and while he showed flashes of brilliance last season, we'll see if he can sustain his prolific scoring record from the Dutch League.

With Yakubu, you know what you are getting, he is a solid, physical player up front who can finish with the best of them, and will get you 15-20 goals a year.

If you are talking about English Premier League, Yakubu is the obvious choice as he's well suited to the League. Actually, Afonso Alves is not a good player, but he looks like a very bad player at the moment as EPL is basically not his cup-of-tea.

His goalscoring record is magnificent in the Dutch League (by all means, this league is not a bad league, even though it lacks media exposure) but when he arrives in Boro, things go wrong.
