Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 forward, Yakubu has revealed that he is looking to walk out of the club, following their relegation from the Premier League.
The Nigerian forward has gone on to repeatedly admit that he has no intention of playing in the Championship and it seems like he has gone on to reassert his ideas on the club and the fans.
The forward has insisted that he needs to play in the Premier League and given the fact that he is twenty nine years old, he feels that playing in the Championship will be a waste of his time and abilities.
The twenty nine year old went on to score an impressive seventeen goals last season, but despite that fact, he couldn’t help the team stay afloat in the Premier League.
Having already spent time in the Championship on loan previously, he seems to have had enough of the second division and doesn’t want to move back again.
At the moment, the newly promoted teams are looking to try and tap the player, as they look to add some Premier League experience to their squads.
A source close to the player, when talking about his ambitions and future is reported to have said: “There is no way that he will rock the boat because he thinks too much of his team-mates to do that but he wants common sense to prevail. He has two years
left on his current contract and he is prepared to tell Steve Kean that he wants the club to let him go if a suitable offer comes in.”
“He knows what the Championship is like after his time at Leicester but he says he is a Premier League player and his goals have shown that and he would prefer not to drop down a division. There won’t be a formal transfer request at this stage but anything
could happen.”
It is now up to the player and his agent to find a club that would be interested in landing him. Given his goal scoring record and history in the league, he would be a worthy addition to just about any team that looks to sign him.
