  1. From a dealer that is cheap, for a private sale that is about average.

They handle well and have spectacular brakes (but these can need work to keep at their best).

  2. Yes its a good price for a cared for bike with a FSH.

Thundercats were Yamaha's answer to the CBR600 and suited some people better.

Easy to ride and quite a rapid bike ( it will be rapid anyway after a 125) Brakes are from an R1 and you will have no problem at all with spares.

Insurance isn't as bad for the Thundercat as it can be on stuff like CBR's,ZZR's and R6's as they were seen as reasonably sensible bikes.

Servicing can be a little dearer than a CBR or ZZR due to them having Yamaha's brilliant 5 valve head (that's one more per cylinder than the competition) Shims used to be about £30 a shot so just 3 needing replacement adds near as d**n it £100 to the bill...........Just something to keep in mind but don't let it distract you from buying a Yamaha.

The 5 valve head was actually so advanced that they made an F1 car engine from two of the cylinder heads bolted to a common crankcase!

Just buy it and enjoy it and keep the service history up to date and you should be able to sell it on for the same money a couple of years later.

  3. its a decent price...good ,fastish bike,very reliable....you enjoy yourself...nut remember its a fair bit quicker than a 125...

  4. I reckon that's a bit steep. Of course it depends where about you are in the country. I'd be tempted to offer him £1000 or £1100 and try and meet somewhere in the middle.

  5. Have a look on E-Bay to give you some sort of price guide, it sounds ok to me(have been looking for 1 for years ) they are very good bikes, the fact it has a full service history and not just below average miles for the year, if it's in good nick and doesn't have too many modifications it's about the going rate you can get them cheaper but not very often.
