Yamaha Factory Racing rider Jorge Lorenzo careful about racing at Silverstone – MotoGP news
Yamaha Factory Racing rider Jorge Lorenzo is careful about racing at the Silverstone circuit while Ben Spies is excited to participate in the upcoming AirAsia British Grand Prix.
Despite the fact that Lorenzo leads the early championship points table, he is careful about racing at the British circuit as it will be his second event at the venue. In 2010, Lorenzo won the British GP from pole position.
Yamaha Factory Racing rider, Jorge Lorenzo said, “We managed to finish our home GP leading the Championship last weekend. I’m very happy because we are very consistent in the beginning of this season. Now we are going for our second visit to Silverstone,
a track I like.”
The Spaniard declared that his 2010 race at Britain was technically strong and best of the season. For the ongoing 2011 season, he thinks that it will prove to be a tough competition. Lorenzo is working hard to perform well with the help of his team and
is trying to focus on every race.
The MotoGP World Championship has returned to the United Kingdom after 25 years of absence. The 2011 event will be the second event after the 2010 race at the venue. This season, the race will be held on a newly designed track layout and updated facilities
including new garages, new paddocks, press hall, spectator zone, etc.
Yamaha’s Texan rider, Ben Spies earned the third place on the podium at the recently held Catalan Grand Prix and is determined to achieve the same again at Silverstone. In the 2010 British event, he was racing with the Tech3 team and scored his first podium
in premier class.
Yamaha Factory Racing rider, Ben Spies said, “I can’t wait to get to Silverstone and get back on the bike again. It’s a track I really enjoy riding and where I got my first ever MotoGP podium last year. Catalunya definitely felt like we were starting the
season again, everything went smoothly and I felt really comfortable and able to challenge for the podium.”
The action from the British Grand Prix at the Silverstone circuit begins Friday, June 10, 2011 with the two practice sessions.
