Yamaha Factory rider Jorge Lorenzo confident of winning upcoming 2011 MotoGP event at Brno
Yamaha Factory Racing rider Jorge Lorenzo is fully confident to win the upcoming Cardion AB Grand Prix at Brno, Czech Republic.
The Spaniard is also looking forward to test the new Yamaha 1000cc prototype following the race day. The test session will be held for one day at the Brno circuit.
Lorenzo said, “After the long break we are going to Brno completely recharged and ready to fight and try to reduce the gap with Casey. This is a track I like and where I won last year. I hope we can start the second half of the season on the podium.”
Since the last round at Laguna Seca, Lorenzo was defeated by Casey Stoner during the final moments of the race. Despite that, Lorenzo led the majority of the race but the final lap blessed Stoner with pace and held off the Spaniard from win.
Now for the 11th event of the ongoing 2011 MotoGP season, the Spaniard is aiming to close in on the world championship leader Casey Stoner. Presently the Aussie stands 20 points ahead of Lorenzo while in the last race, the aim for Yamaha’s prime
rider was to regain the lead but now his effort is to catch Stoner.
The Spanish rider is eagerly waiting to get his hands on the new 1000cc Yamaha. While commenting on the test, Lorenzo said, “After the race we will be testing the 1000cc bike for one day. I am really looking forward to discovering the new Yamaha.”
The much awaited 1000cc test from Yamaha will be conducted at Brno after the race day. On the other side, their competitors such as Ducati and Honda have revealed their 2012 machines already.
The Ducati team has tested its 2012 bike at Jerez, Spain. Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi conducted the three-day session for the team and expressed satisfaction with the new prototype.
Meanwhile, Honda have also tested their 2012 bike at Jerez with team riders Casey Stoner and Andrea Dovizioso. Their HRC test rider Kousuke Akiyoshi also initially tested the bike at Japan.
