I've been scouring the web to see if there is a max. rider weight for these sport bikes. Any an all info would be appreciated.

  1. If your a heavier set rider, its a good bet to go 1000cc. My mate 150KG sat on a 600 and it looked smaller and out of proportion because of his size. Power wise he was still pulling 12 sec flat qtr miles on a gsxr k6 1000cc to give you an idea of power to weight. 600cc obviously slower.

  2. I don't know the numbers off the top of my head, but if you find the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) and subtract the dry weight (or wet weight, if available) that will give you the maximum rider weight.

GVWR is the maximum amount that the tires and suspension can safely carry under normal operation.  Dry weight is the total weight of the bike without a passenger and no fluids.  Wet weight is the total weight of the bike without a passenger but with all oils, brake fluid and a full tank of gas.

  3. I don't think there is one, well I'm sure there is but I don't think you'll find one published anywhere.  I have a co-worker who has an 2006 R6 and he is 300lbs.  Yeah, it's not a pretty picture, but the bike handles fine, the frame and rims aren't bent or anything.  I rode it once and other than the suspension being really stiff the R6 is a nice bike (not compared to my R1 though).

  4. make your mind up first.

    6 or 1 ?

  5. the best way to keep from overloading your bike is to add a sticker that says no fat chicks, and stick to it, anything that weight more that you is fat
