Yamaha R6 or Suzuki GXSR K6 2006?

I'm a beginner for racer bikes.

1.Considering between a Yamaha R-6 and Suzuki GXSR K6 2006 . Which one is a better ride for beginners? I was told the R-6 is rather too powerful. Is that true?

2.Which one is more durable?ie. which bike requires relatively less maintenance?

Ok I am a little biased, however, the r6 is a slowed down version of yamahas crotch rocket, also has a better riding position. It would be a begginer race bike for me and I was looking at all versions.

They are equal. Neither is more durable, faster, better on gas, or more powerful. A bike is only as good as the maintenance it receives.

The only deciding factor to consider if how comfy you are on each. Sit on both in the riding position and see which one feels best.

I know yamahas have a higher tank so the reach to the bars may be a stretch for some but other are fine. I personally don't like the feel of a Gixxer. I've rode many and I just don't like them. Everybody is different so you'll have to see for yourself.

Get a CBR600RR. Honda are more reliable.
