Yamaha RX-V450 Amp. Sub problems?

Hi,

Im trying to set up my sound system and i can get all my speakers working properly but cant get my sub to put out any bass or anyhting at all. The sub is a Sony SA-W3000 and the amp is a Yamaha RX-V450. any help would be grateful

  1. One time I was told by Yamaha tech support to tell my receiver that all my speakers were SMALL and that the subwoofer setting should be set to "BOTH".

    Make sure the subwoofer or LFE level is turned up on the receiver menu system.

    Try that. Then use Avia or Digital Video Essentials or "Sound and Vision setup disk" which has test tones just for the sub.


  2. You have to turn on the subwoofer option in the receiver menu, if you set to both you will get bass from the subwoofer and the front speakers at the same time, I recommend put only on subwoofer (depends on which front speakers you have) and dont turn up the levels on the receiver if you want more bass play with the volume directly on the sub.
