  1. Niles makes some nice speaker selectors.

But the level adjustment, subwoofer levels you need for the 2 rooms is likely different.  Then you have the volume control problems from the other room...etc.

You are probably better off using this receiver as your main HT system, and buying a less-expensive HTIB for the bedroom/kids room.

You DONT need high-end equipment to have a great movie system so dont get hung up on leveraging 1 good recevier for 2 systems.

  2. no. No. NO!

The HSP-6 is to connect 1 pair of speaker outputs to 6 or less speaker pairs not 5 speaker outputs to 2 rooms.

It will NOT work. You would need 3 of them plus a source selector (wired backwards) to switch between the two subs so you would have to pay about $850 and press 7 buttons each time you want to swich.(2 butons on each HSP-6 and 1 on the source selector)

A distribution system that can do what you want is available from Audio Authority but it may costs as much as a second 3800. They are made for the commercial market. Like for an audio company that wants to switch between speaker sets in the showroom.
