Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow aims top-ten finish at upcoming Motorland Aragon GP – MotoGP news
Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow has regained his confidence and hopes to finish within top-ten at the Motorland Aragon Grand Prix.
The third Spanish event of the ongoing MotoGP season will be held on September 18, 2011.
After spending crucial practice time with the Tech3 squad in France, he has regained his confidence which was missing in the last few races.
Crutchlow said, “I'm raring to start this weekend having spent a few days with the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team in France. It has been great spending some quality time with the crew while also training hard after a couple of really physically demanding races
in Indianapolis and Misano.”
The Brit rider explained that he has collected some valuable points from the last couple of rounds. Some decent results recently have helped him to gather his confidence and the rest was helped out by the training with the Tech3 squad.
The Motorland Aragon circuit is one of the venues in which he lacks experience but he is willing to learn it. He hopes the race will be a good event due to its mixed layout.
Crutchlow added, “I think it might suit my style because it doesn't look like a circuit with a lot of strong braking points. It is never easy trying to learn a new track, but the confidence gained in the last couple of the races means we can start the weekend
in a positive frame of mind.”
Earlier in mid-season, he was seen voluntarily retiring out of the races due to a front-end issue with his Tech3 M1. Recently at Misano, he finished at the tenth place which seemed to end his bad run of form.
His previous best finish was at Catalunya where he scored a seventh position. Now again coming to Spain he is optimistic to do better than a tenth place finish. Currently, the British rider is 15th in the 2011 MotoGP championship
standings.
