Yamaha Waverunner Question????

Question

It is a GP760, Does it have a key? Why does not the function meter come on? What is the buzzer for? It turns but does not start, How come? Why am I so stupid? ...If you need to know more just shoot me an email.....

LOL. Yamaha is by far one of the best skis made. It is about equal to kawasaki skis. Seadoos are ok as well as Polaris(not made anymore), but Yamahas have very good engineering that has been proven though years of trial. It should have a "key" but it will be a little u shaped piece that slides under and lifts up the kill mechanism on the start/stop unit on the handlebars. Look for the part that raises up when you pull on it on the unit with the stop botton on it and you have found the part where your "key" will slide under. If you are missing this key you can buy them cheap either oem or ebay. Of just use something homemade and slip it under to make sure it works. Because it's a Yamaha. Yamaha's Suck. But really, you should take it to a Shop. Or buy a new one

I have to agree with xbox2006.  Yamaha makes great skis.  

You can buy the kill mechanism from Walmart.  They usually carry them in different sizes.  You will need to know what size you need.  As for a key, there is none, just the kill.  

If it turns and does not start, it could be idled to low.  You will need to remove the seat and look for the idle s***w on the motor and turn it.  Also, make sure that your gas k**b is switched to on.  Try the choke, if you have one.  Also, try recharging the battery.  If it doesn't crank after you have tried the above, I would recommend you take it to a repair shop to have it looked at.
