Yamaha riders Ben Spies, Jorge Lorenzo looking towards Indianapolis – MotoGP news
Yamaha riders Ben Spies and Jorge Lorenzo are looking forward towards the upcoming Indianapolis Grand Prix scheduled this upcoming weekend on August 19, 2012.
The Spanish said that he enjoys riding the Indianapolis track and has good memories of the circuit. He told that he was able to make it to the podiums in 2008, 2010 and he left the circuit as winner in 2009.
Furthermore, he said that in the last 2011 season, he was struggling with the grip of his bike. He added that he expects that the team will be able to improve that issue this season.
Moreover, he said that he has been training during the summer break so that he remains physically well for the Indianapolis.
The Spaniard said, “I really enjoy riding the Indy track, and have good memories here from my podiums in 2008 and 2010 and my great win in 2009. Last year I really struggled with grip in the race so I hope we can improve that this year.”
His teammate, Ben Spies said that it will be great to race in the home at Indianapolis once again, after Laguna Seca. Furthermore, he said that Indianapolis is a track they feel comfortable riding at.
Moreover, he said that the upcoming Grand Prix is special because it was the circuit where he was able to get on the podium for the first time in his career. He added that he hopes that they are able to make it on podium making it a hat-trick in the current
2012 season at Indianapolis.
He said, “It’s going to be great to get out in front of all the US fans again, I love racing in America, the reception is always awesome. Indy is a track we go well at, and is pretty special to me for my first GP podium.”
Spies was able to make it to the podium at the third place in last 2011season. In the 2010 season he was able to make it at the second place on the rostrum. If he makes it to the podium in the current season it will the third time he will be achieving it.
