Yamaha riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies expect a good weekend at Brno – MotoGP news
Yamaha Factory Racing riders, Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies expect a good upcoming weekend when the Czech Grand Prix will be held.
Jorge Lorenzo said that after a little rest from Indianapolis Grand Prix they are back in Europe. He added that he likes Brno and it is the same track where he got a convincing victory in 2010.
Furthermore, the Spaniard said that season 2011 was not good for him because of the selection of the tyres he made. He added that the fight for the podium was difficult last year but he believes that they will be able to fight among the leading positions
in the current season.
He said, “After very little rest we are back in Europe at Brno, a track I really like and where I got a great victory in 2010 on my way to the title. Our tyre choice last year made it difficult to fight for the podium but think this year with the 1000cc
we can definitely fight at the front.”
Spies, teammate of Lorenzo said that he enjoyed time in his homeland, America, because he got time to see his friends and family. He said that the two races held there were a disaster for him and were not in his control. He added that he is looking forward
towards the upcoming weekend and expects that they do not have any issue at Automotodrom Brno.
Furthermore, he said that Brno is one of his favourite tracks. In the last 2011 season, he finished the race at fifth place after starting the race at the fourth place.
“I’m looking forward to getting straight back on the bike here at one of my favourite tracks to see if we can finally have a good weekend with no issues,” Spies said.
At Indianapolis, in the current season, Lorenzo made it to the podium at the second place whereas Spies crashed.
Last year Casey Stoner of Repsol Honda Team won the race. In the Indianapolis GP he faced a critical incident and his participation at Brno is still uncertain. It will be interesting to see whether history repeats itself or a new history will be written.
