does anyone know the firing order for a yamaha venture?

  1. Well the venture and the Vmax are basically the same engine bike and you cannot reset the timing on these bikes. The venture came out first then the vmax using alot of the same drive line components. If you are having issues with the bike misfiring, then either one of your coil packs is bad or you don't have  spark plug wires set in far enough on either the coil end or the plug end.Best thing to do is check easiest first which would be the wires. If that's not the issue than try undoing the plug wires from the spark plugs one at a time then starting it to see if you end up with a drastic change in it. when you disconnect a wire and see no change than that is the one that is bad and you can figure on replacing that coil pack it goes to. the only other issue that can cause it to seem out of time is if the  CDI box has a short in it. I have seen that be a problem before. I suggest if you don't have the right equipment to check voltage to the system, that you take it to a qualified mechanic before getting in over your head and make something worse..
