Yani Tseng talks about the Evian Masters
Yani Tseng, the world’s number one player, recently talked about her expectations from the Evian Masters, her place as the world’s top golfer and how she sees herself in the future.
The first question was of course about the upcoming Evian Maters. Tseng is very excited about the event and is determined to give her best at the golf course. She is particularly looking forward to playing the course she adores and is very positive of a
win.
Tseng is very satisfied with the changes that the management has integrated into the course. The added length is particularly a feature she admires the most.
Commenting on the course, she said, “I'm feeling good. I always love coming to Evian and the course is longer than before, which suits my game”.
Tseng had trouble, recently, with Jason Hamilton, her long time caddy. The duo spent sixteen years together and saw great success. Recently, she fired him and was looking for a new caddy.
This time, she will play in the Evian Masters with her caddy, Basil Von Rooyen. Tseng has not been on top of her game recently.
She performed miserably in the NW Arkansas Championship. No one expected her to miss the cut. When asked about her recent bad patch, she was adamant that it is now a thing of past. However, experts are still not sure.
The US Open was another dismal performance from Yani Tseng. Finishing in the 50th position was shocking for the world’s number one player and her fans. She said that she hopes to better her performance in the Evian Masters.
According to Tseng, the pressure of being the best golfer got to her and made her lose her focus. She added that being number one is not as easy as it might appear.
The attention of media and fans can be unnerving at times and a player could face issues in the long run.
The next question was on her experiences of the previous editions of the Evian Masters. She said that this will be her fifth time and she is still unable to figure out the course. She added that the recent changes will make the course easier to play.
