Yani Tseng feels "fresh" before Navistar LPGA Classic 2012
Current world number one Yani Tseng said she is feeling “fresh” after taking part in the Ricoh Women’s British Open 2012 last week.
Tseng is gearing up to participate in the Navistar LPGA Classic 2012, set to start from September 20-23 at Prattville, Alabama, but the last week’s Ricoh Women’s British Open 2012 had been hectic due largely to rough weather conditions.
The British Open 2012, held last week at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Hoylake, United Kingdom, troubled most of the contenders as the windy conditions made it difficult to stay focused on the course.
Speaking to the media during her pre-tournament interview, Tseng said that she is now feeling fresh and has had good sleep after she touched down here.
“I feel fresh and I just I don't know, last week was kind of a tough week because of the weather, but this week I'm looking forward to good weather and playing a good golf course so I kind of very enjoy not thinking that much," said Tseng who is being regarded as one of the strongest contenders for the Navistar LPGA Classic 2012.
The Taiwanese star went on to say that she had to rest a bit before the start of the Navistar LPGA Classic 2012.
“Finally I can sleep as long as I wanted. But I wake up at 6:00 in the morning, but I feel fine. I'm not a morning person, but every time I wake up at 6:00 I feel I have a whole day that I can rest,” the top-ranked prodigy said.
Analysts said that Tseng’s biggest concern is to cement her number one position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings, but other contenders will also be putting their best feet forward in order to record a win.
Analysts went on to say that the biggest threat Tseng is going to face will be from American Stacy Lewis. Lewis has been in direct battle against Tseng in world rankings but she has now tumbled to the third spot.
Tseng admitted that she has not been able to perform up to the mark in recent weeks, but she made a good start in the current season and hopes to repeat that performance at the end too.
