Yani Tseng sets her sights on 2012 US Open
The current world number one Yani Tseng appears to be filled with plenty of confidence these days, as she is impatiently waiting for the 2012 US Women’s Open, slated to be held from July 2-8, at Blackwolf Run, Kohler, Wisconsin.
Talking to the media about her plans for the current season, Tseng said she wanted to spice up her schedule by confirming to participate in the prestigious US Open, as this is the event she has been seeking to shine at.
Keeping in view Tseng’s recent performance, observers have predicted that the Taiwanese prodigy will perform amazingly well in the Open.
First off, she began the 2012 the season in an impressive style, something likely to keep her in high spirits in the upcoming events.
Tseng stunned her fans recently after she defended her title at Honda LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association).
The tournament held at Siam Country Club featured a number of big names in women’s golf.
However, thanks to an impressive 66 in the final round, Tseng outplayed all her rivals, adding yet another victory to her profile.
However, it remains to be seen whether she will be able to perform the same in the US Open. The US Open is going to feature a strong field comprising several battle-hardened contenders.
Michelle Wie, who is best known for her unpredictable performance, will be flexing her muscles at Kohler as well.
Moreover, Paula Creamer and Cristie Kerr have also confirmed to play the Open. Both players will also be fixating on the prestigious trophy with big aims.
Tseng shared her feelings about the US Open, saying she is working hard on her game to make sure she does on the course what she plans.
She said that the event is one of the most prestigious ones, which means that all the contenders will be slugging it out to grab a victory.
She added that her main goal is to win the tournament. "For the Grand Slam, of course, US Open is one of my goals. If I don't win this year, I still have many more years to come but I would love to win as soon as I can".
