Yani Tseng to atone for Sybase Match Play Championship loss at ShopRite LPGA Classic
The current world number one Yani Tseng is going to participate in the ShopRite LPGA Classic, scheduled to start from June 1-3, at the prestigious Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club, New Jersey.
Tseng, who has inspired just about everyone with her amazing skills on the course, has been superb in the current season.
Although the last event, Sybase Match Play Championship did not prove that lucky for her, she is now willing to record yet another victory in her professional career.
The Taiwanese star is being considered one of the hot favourites for the tournament, as analysts said that her vast experience will help her keep an eye on her rivals. They added that despite several battle-hardened contenders in the roster, Tseng will be
grabbing much of the attention.
The top-ranked prodigy kicked off the current season in an impressive style, as she won three tournaments. Her first victory of the season was recorded at the Honda LPGA Thailand, in which she grabbed a one-storke victory against Ai Miyazato of Japan.
She then proved her mettle at RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup and Kia Classic, recording one-stroke and 6-stroke victories, respectively.
Although pumped up due to making a good start in the 2012 season, Tseng still needs to make sure she plays well against lesser-known players. With several victories, fans now tend to expect her to win in every tournament, which is tough.
In one of her recent interviews, Tseng said that she realises that people want her to win all the time, but it is different when she plays on the course.
She said that she agrees with the idea that a champion has to win most of the times, but golf is unpredictable.
“I'm kind of used to it because I expect me to win every week, too. So it's not about the people around me they expect because I expect also. So I think you don't want to go to a tournament that you want to finish second. I think all the players want to
win the tournament,” the golfing sensation said.
“So I want to be strong and to finish strong and just feel the way I want to play and do my job on the course and play one shot at a time and try to win every week”.
