Yani Tseng will participate in HSBC Women's Champions next week
Yani Tseng is playing a very hectic schedule this season. After participating in the Honda LPGA Thailand in Pattaya this week, she will be taking part in the HSBC Women’s Champions at Tanah Merah Country Club.
The event is going to be held from February 23-26, with the participation of some of the big names in women’s golf.  The tournament will offer a hefty $1.4 million purse.
Hailing from Thailand, Tseng currently ranks 1st in the world golf rankings and the 2012 season is likely to see big surprises from her.
Having racked up 5 major championships in her career, Tseng has been superb in almost all the events that she has played.
She proved her worth on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour, winning 12 titles so far.
The 2011 season was awash with plenty of successes, as Tseng made the most of her unique putting skills in the events. She was spectacular in the Taifong Ladies Open, played in January, defending her title.
The Thai star grabbed the headlines in the season, as she managed to record three victories within a few weeks.
Her second win for the season was recorded at ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open. She did not stop surprising her fans on the course, as she grabbed her third straight triumph at the Honda LPGA Thailand.
However, this season, Tseng may see a tough battle, as she will come face to face with defending champion Karrie Webb.
Karrie Webb is full of confidence due to an impressive victory in the last HSBC Women’s Champions.
She exhibited a unique performance on the course, with calculated putts that did not miss good chances.
Karrie may find it difficult to outplay Tseng, but she will not give up without putting up a fight. The Aussie knows Tseng can pose a serious threat to her title, as the world number one position is enough to keep her motivated.
Tseng is busy this week, as she is gearing up to take part in the Honda LPGA Thailand. It remains to be seen whether she is able to defend the title at Pattaya.
Tseng produced a flawless performance in the 2011 Honda LPGA Thailand, recording a 5-stroke victory against Michelle Wie.
Her performance this week can highlight how she is going to fare against rivals at Tanah Merah Country Club next week.
She said, "This year, I'll aim to come out even stronger and take the lead from the start. I am very much looking forward to participating in this year's HSBC Women's Champions".
