Staying walking distance to Lansdowne. I know the World Cup is going on then and am concerned this may put a damper on any local play. Any suggestions? Chances to see rugby in US are few and far between.

  1. Not sure when the domestic season starts in Ireland, but it should be around about then. Best you can hope for is a local club match, won't be anything on as far as provincial games or the like.

But if you've come that far, why not jump on a short flight to France to watch the "real deal"?? Ireland play France in Paris on the 21st, that should be one of the best pool matches at the world cup.

Pity you won't be there on the 30th when Ireland play Argentina (in Paris). A real crunch match with the winner assuring themselves a place in the 1/4 finals and the loser bowing out at the end of the pool stages....

  2. Lansdowne is currently being demolished for redevelopment.

Leinster will be playing their home games at the Royal Dublin Society.

The closet scheduled match in Dublin is their clash with Edinburgh but that's on the 22nd so it won't suit you.

The domestic season won't commence until the 27th.

SO it looks like there's no rugby available to you between the 15th an the 21st.
