  1. Yanks get a top-notch catcher in Pudge Rodriguez, and I have no idea why the Tigers got Kyle Farnsworth when they could've gotten better talent.

  2. Unnecessary for the Yanks.  They could have gotten a low profile mediocre backup and left Molina as a starter.  This way the bullpen wouldn't suffer, and the pitching staff could work with a catcher they are comfortable with.  The need for offense is less important with Nady in the lineup, so a sluggish Molina at bat wouldn't matter so much.

Farnsworth has been solid this year.  He sucked for a while, but the present is more important than the past.  Tough to see him go.

  3. Thnak god the yankees got rid of kyle i mean i know he has been doing very good of late but jeez he gave up a homerun every inning before that. As for Pudge, he is an old reliable catcher who is batting like 290 now and is having a good season. Id take him. I mean he isnt as good as he was when he was on roids but id take him over molina or chad they are batting like 225 each. its not tough to see a gauy go who as always done awful for the yankees. yeah he throws really hard but its not effective when its straight as an arrow. The yankes are prolly thinking lets stack our lineup because we have hughes kennedy and pavano as pitchers who may be ready soon. why not make one a reliever who knows?

  4. Completely unnecessary, IMHO. I think Molina and Moeller could have done the job, and we're losing a pitcher who we really could've used.

That said, Pudge is awesome. I've always liked him. And the addition of his bat can help us out in the pennant race this year, since Jorge won't be able to, but he really wasn't needed.

So, unneccessary, but beneficial. If that makes sense.

hiphop anonymous: ITA with everything you said.

  5. It benefits the Yankees more than the Tigers. Pudge will fill in well for Posada, and if Jorge's shoulder does not heal well enough for him to catch, they can move him to first base next year, and try to resign Pudge for 1 or 2 years to be their catcher. Farnsworth should blow a few games for Detroit and then go on his way as a free agent next year.

  6. tigers got the worst end of the deal they could of gotten more then farenworth

  7. Purely a win-now situation, and perhaps a salary dump, as that is yet another contract the Yankees will have coming off the books after the season.

  8. I think it was a stupid idea! And I liked my Farnsworth!

  9. the yankees did much better. getting rid of farnsowrth was good for us and pudge is a great fit. when you add a future hall of famer your doing well.
