Yankees smudge Dave Eiland’s name off the pitching staff list

The New York Yankees were less than successful in availing their dream of becoming the World Series champions for the 28th time, this season.  However, the aftershocks are still being felt across the ball club room and when one couldn’t guess
it, there was no reason to deny it. There was going to be a reformation in the staff hierarchy.
General Manager Brian Cashman has been less than pleased about the pitcher’s performance in the games leading up to the team’s exit from the American League championship.
Nevertheless, Dave Eiland now finds himself, out of a job as the Yankees look to replace the man whose contract was also going to expire, later this month. The Yankees pitching division has been under fire from a lot of fans and the reason would be obvious.
The likes of Andy Pettitte and Allan James Burnett were not up to the mark by the end of the regular season. While Carsten Charles Sabathia provided the side with a top notch performance in and out of the regular league tenure, the rest went out of the way
to crash down in form.
One of the possible root causes for the dismissal could be pointed at Dave’s 25 day absence from the team in June. The pitching coach was not present with the team for almost a month and the public reason had never been unveiled. Though there are rumours,
many do concur that the fact was not well accepted by the front office in the New York Yankees management club. Cashmore, when asked about the event, answered, “I’m not going to comment on what the reasons are. They’re private”.
Joe Girardi was present to comment on Eiland’s departure, he said, “There is little doubt the impact he had on a great number of pitchers during his tenure. He was a passionate and knowledgeable pitching coach on the Major League level, and he played a valuable
role in our team’s achievements in recent years”.
The Yanks will either turn to bullpen pitching coach, Mike Harkey or Baltimore Orioles’ pitching Coach Rick Kranitz for taking up the vacant place left behind after Dave’s exodus.
