Yankees trade for X-man and Marte?

actually you cant really say who got the better deal since pittsburgh got 3 minor leagers and we wont know how good they are untill they make it to the majors if ever

Im pretty sad that ohlendorf was tossed away he looked promising, but still the yankees got away with one, even espn says so, nady is hitting 333 and marte is that lefty arm the yanks need in the pen, pittsburgh couldve asked for more

yankees without a dought go the better trade marte has been great all year and thoruhtout his career and the Nady will be filling in for matsui... great deal for yanks they got a still, not so much for the pirates, the only guy i think thats gonna be good in that deal is tabata hes young hes fast and hess a great prospect, ohledorf sucked with the yankees i dont except him to do much better in pitsburgh

i think the trade works out both ways...i don't think that nady is any kind of a long term solution for the yankees, but he is a righthanded bat that can be added to the lineup for now, and marte is a great addition as a lefty in the pen...the pirates got just what they needed, prospects particularly in the bullpen, although ross ohlendorf doesn't have much of a future imo

I think the Pirates got an absolute steal. Marte is a good pitcher, but Nady is not a very good player. He's always a mediocre player, and he will continue to be as such. Next year he will not do very well, so the Pirates were lucky to get so many young guys for him. As far as I'm concerned with Nady, anything you get is pure profit.

The Yankees got the better end of this deal. It was a steal. All they had to give up were four minor leaguers: two unproven guys, one struggling pitcher, and one player with hamstring and attitude problems.

For this, the Yankees got pitching help and a bat.

You can try and say that you can't tell who got the better end because they're unproven minor leaguers, but in this trade, where the Yankees are competing for post-season play, you've got to look at the now. And right now, the Yankees are in a great position.

Jose Tabata. i compare him alot to Fernando Martinez the prospect for the Mets. and you hear only good things about fernando. so if nady and marte help them win the world series then its a good deal but as of now i think the pirates get the better end of the deal.

i am a pirates fan and i believe the yanks got a steal with this trade....nady is batting .330 with solid numbers all around.....marte may be the best lefty reliever on the trade block....the pirates should have gotten ian kennedy in return, but overall i believe the yanks have just made themselves their division champs

dumb deal for the yankees they trade minor league prospects for nady who is way overrated. This is his first good year, and they act like he is an allstar. He isnt going to be a big help to the yankees cause he will strike out alot

The Pirates also got Jeff Karstens which could be a solid #3 or #4 SP in the next year to 2. Yes NY got what they needed NOW!

Yankee haters are the ONLY people out there that will say that NY made a stupid move. Nady is having a career year but he wasn't to shaby in years past. Plus he can play OF & 1b, that is huge! Marte is a perfect fit as well for the 7th & or 8th.

I believe this trade was even and if not the Pirates got the better end. Although I love Nady, he has never truly had an "excellent" year. This is only his first year where he has shown a true hitting ability. And also Nady is only signed through this year I believe. In a few years when the players the Pirates got start to debut in the MLB, I believe that is when we will truely know

the yankees have a surplus of young up and coming pitchers and minor leaguers and not all of them will play for the yankees tabata is ratetd #4 best prospect in the yankee system and the #11 # 19 prospect das not that much they gave up so please stop saying that

the yankees weakness was not the bullpen but it just got even stronger

yankees got the better of the deeal becuz they belive that dey dont need to trade for a pitcher cuz they have ian kennedy in the minors who has been inproving and other pitchers pavano hughes wang coming back soon this deal can hop the yankees into the division champs
