Yann M’Vila signs contract extension with Stade Rennais - French Ligue 1 news
France International, Yann M’Vila, who is currently playing with Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais, has signed a contract extension with the club that would keep him at the Brittany club until 2015. With many European clubs looking to bring in the 20-year-old,
Stade Rennais have moved swiftly in order to keep the youngster with the club for a longer duration.
It has been suggested that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 were looking to table an offer for the youngster in the upcoming summer transfer window. M’Vila’s contract at the club was set to expire in 2014 but the youngster
has now signed a one-year extension to his contract. The youngster has been an integral part of the Stade Rennais side that is currently fifth in the French Ligue 1 standings and has become indispensable for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 national team coach, Laurent Blanc.
A few months ago, it was reported that the newly-crowned English Premier League champions, Manchester United, had approached Stade Rennais over the possibility of signing M’Vila but no move materialised as Rennais officials were unwilling to let go of a
player who has been a real star in the club’s race to securing a UEFA Europa League berth. However, Yan M’Vila said that he would want to go to Manchester United if an offer arrives.
Furthermore, after United deciding to let go of injury-hit http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 FC, are also
very keen on signing the defensive midfielder who has made 36 appearances in the Ligue 1 for Rennes this season.
Liverpool and Manchester United are not the only sides keeping tabs on M’Vila. Reports suggest that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 boss, Arsene Wenger, has been monitoring the France international for some time and is considering making a move for the youngster even though the
20-year-old has just signed an extension to his contract.
The contract extension might be a ploy by Stade Rennais officials in a bid to sell the player for a reasonable profit in order to buy a few players ahead of the start of the next season, where they will also be playing in the Europa League.
