Sporting Lisbon’s saviour against Juventus, Yannick Djalo, believes that the effort he put in training is paying off on the pitch. The Portuguese International proved his worth to the Lions in a recent friendly against Juventus and bagged two goals to steer
his team to victory.
Yannick was not in the best of forms earlier on but now that he is finding the back of the net regularly, he was keen to attribute his return to goalscoring ways to his training techniques.
“It was good, I've been working a lot because we had a long vacation and was not in the best physical condition. The workouts have been tough, we were not in our best games in the Netherlands, due to some fatigue,” he was quoted as saying.
Since the Lisbon outfit were overshadowed by the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 last season, Djalo acknowledges that the pressure on them to deliver silverware is even greater than last season.
"We know that this time the demand is very great because the previous one was not good. We are focused on making a great season” he added.
The Selecao International was adamant that the task they face is daunting but if they manage to topple their rivals for the title, the rewards will be very fruitful and could herald long-running celebrations.
“We’re not in great excitement because we know that the work will be arduous. We hope to reach the final and we can celebrate,” concluded the former Casa Pia man.
Although Yannick has accumulated several winner-medals with Sporting over the years, the 25-year-old is yet to experience a string of matches with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 national team, owing to the lack of recognition he receives in the league.
