  1. hes not athletic

  2. He's too tall to mobilize himself as fast as the other players.

Basically, he doesn't know how to use his body correctly. Heck, I'm 5' and my friend is 6'. He doesn't know how to correctly use his hands, so I normally whoop him.

Point is, Yao Ming needs a shitload of training before he can compare to the worst players on the US team.

  3. He is weak from the waist onwards and it's the trick to save his energy

  4. He can't jump ....and slower because .. duh he is too big

  5. he doesnt seem to try hard out there, i heard that van gundy said he was a hard worker and everything but i havent seen it translate it on the court, he played nonchalantly out there

  6. he has like a 2 in vertical and not athletic plus the other rebounders are stronger

  7. Just because he's tall doesn't mean he is the best rebounder.

It mostly depends on how athletic he is and how hard he tries.

Also he's pretty tall, meaning hes slower with the extra weight holding him down

  8. He dont got ups nor he is that flexible

  9. many people think that just becase yao is the tallest player in the nba he should league the lead in rebouds. frankly that is a foolish thought.

it takes more than height to rebouding. yao simply isn't athletic nor strong enough to fend off ferocious rebounder like dwight howard or marcus camby.

remember this, when bill russel and even wilt dominated the league in rebounding, they weren't even the tallest guys there. there were people their height and even taller. when your 7'6 it just isn't natural for you to be jumping around. its quite amazing how yao can even move that effectively.

if you dont believe me then look at shawn bradley. he was 7'6 and averaged less rebouds than he did. in fact he never averaged more than 8 rebounds during his career.

despite his size, i dont think yao will ever lead the league in rebounds, simply because of his lack of athleticism and the fact that at 7'6 it is very hard to move around. people should be more lenien on his stats and if they ever want to say that he sucks, they should look at shawn bradley

  10. Well some players have very long arms, so they can compete with Yao's height if they combine that and their higher vertical. Yao shouldn't jump around due to his height and he's not the strongest center, which takes away his opportunities to rebound.

  11. prbly cuz his team has a lot of steals and fast break oppurtunites

  12. Cause hes CHINESE

  13. He's not strong and quick enough to gobble up all the rebounds.
