We have a french drain installed around the perimeter of our house, and then a longer drain pipe drains this water into the swampy area adjacent to our property. The problem is that the level of this swampy area has risen and now our drainage pipe is submerged in mucky water. We are afraid we are going to end up with a basement full of water. We tried digging out this swampy area but its getting nowhere - its just muck and water keeps coming from everywhere. Should we hire someone to come and dig up our yard to raise the level of the entire drain pipe? Or does anyone have any ideas on how to drain this swamp and somehow release our pipe without digging up the whole yard?? We cant really elbow or extend the pipe without digging a lot of the swamp out....Thanks
