  1. Why don't you sell everything on eBay?

  2. careful! read your lease to make sure you dont get into any kind of trouble. this could be considered conducting a business and many apts frown on that. depends on the landlord some are cool about it as long it doesnt cause problems but then again a majority of landlords Ive encountered are jerks and sticklers about leases

  3. Talk the apartment manager or property owner.  Ask if there is a public space where you can set out your items.

Do NOT hold the sale within the apartment unit - people could easily steal things or try to purchase things that aren't for sale.

You could take digital pictures of the items and post them on a "virtual garage sale" on a site like Craig's List.  Or you could take the items to a local flea market and set up a table there.

Whatever you do, it will help to make a list of each item, the asking price, and the secret-lowest-you're-willing-to-accept price, for your own reference.

  4. You need to check with the rental office to see if a yard sale is allowed.  If so you can have it the usual way outside.  If not, you can still probably have people come in to the apartment to look at what you have for sale.  If neither of those scenarios seems good, you could take your things to a local flea market to sell.
