Yarmouth Pick 6 recap: part two
Another Pick 6 Jackpot series of races were run at Yarmouth Wednesday night, the fifth leg of which was renamed to the Greenwoods Solicitors Trophy. Here is the recap for the last three legs.
4th Leg Pick 6 Jackpot A4
The fourth leg was the closest leg of all six with the top four hounds all finishing in tight. Midian Causeway took first place by a neck over 2-1 race favourite, Ice Cool Fox, with a time of 29.14.
Six Sheilas, who got off to the best start of the group, finished in third place, ¾ lengths behind Cool Fox, and just a neck behind her in fourth was Joyces Pride. Pride had managed to take an early lead,
but lost it on the fourth bend.
Cuganacira finished in fifth, two lengths behind Pride, and in last place was Dunmurry Trampas.
Greenwoods Solicitors Trophy A1
Herberts Dilemma won The Greenwoods Solicitors Trophy (5th Leg Pick 6 Jackpot) by a ½ length over 6-4 race favourite, Canary Delight. Dilemma kept to the inside while Delight pushed into the middle, and
the two battled for the lead until the final stretch. Dilemma’s time of 28.21 seconds was the fastest of all the leg winners, but that is to be expected from the only A1 race of the bunch.
Taking third, two lengths behind Delight, was Newtown Sapphire. Behind Sapphire in fourth was Hi Vuvuzela, and in fifth was Gerry Rob John.
Last place went to Lonesome Rab. His time of 28.69 was faster than four of the other leg’s winners.
6th Leg Pick 6 Jackpot A3
The last leg of this week’s Pick 6 Jackpot went to Beaufort Loyal. Loyal got off to a great start and took an early lead. Sporting Rocket stayed close to Loyal but lost the race by a shoulder in the end.
Loyal’s time of 28.65 was the second fastest of all the race winners.
The rest of the field finished far back of the top two with Tremar Sky Hawk taking third place, 6 ¼ lengths behind Rocket.
Hartwood Jac was the 7-4 race favourite in this one, but had trouble on most of the bends, and wasn’t able to keep up as a result.
Jac’s kennelmate, Hartwood Shadow, stumbled on the third bend and finished in fifth place. The stumble almost allowed Plum Punch to move up from last, but terrible third and fourth bends put Punch in last
place by a neck.
