The out of favour Pakistan all-rounder, Yasir Arafat, is looking forward to use his Friends Life T20 stint with the Lancashire County Cricket Club to press his claims for a World T20 call-up from the national selectors.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 all-rounder, on Wednesday agreed to a deal with the Lancashire County to become their second overseas player for this season’s Flt20 campaign.
"I've been out of favour with the national side for more than two years and all I can do is to try and perform well and to attempt to impress the selection committee," Arafat told Pakpassion.
"I recently played in the domestic 20-over tournament in Rawalpindi and have now been given an opportunity by Lancashire. I will of course give 100% effort and would dearly love to play in the Twenty20 World Cup later this year," he added further.
The 30-year-old Rawalpindi born right-handed lower-order batsman and a right-arm fast bowler, has played 11 ODIs, three Tests and seven T20 Internationals for Pakistan. He last feautred for the national side back in February 2010, in a T20I against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013,
in Dubai.
The all-rounder however, holds an impressive Twenty20 record with 148 scalps in 126 appearances at an average 22.87.
Asked about his deal with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806 County, Arafat said that he was really pleased and excited at signing with a strong all-round side.
"Lancashire are a strong all-round side with some very experienced cricketers. This opportunity is a fantastic one and I had no hesitation in signing for Lancashire," said the Pakistani all-rounder.
The right-arm fast bowler said that the Lancashire Lightning has a history of winning tournaments and hoped to play his part in helping the side do well in this season’s Friends Life t20 competition.

Lancashire's director of cricket, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-Moores-c81848, also welcomed Arafat’s decision to spend this summer at Old Trafford and hoped his inclusion would provide the squad the much needed depth in batting, besides bolstering the
