*Yawn* Boxing on life support?

I used to be a big boxing fan. But with the recent years of boring fights, very questionable decisions and such, along with the rise of the UFC I wish boxing would just go away. What about you?

  1. If your looking for exciting boxing matches check out Quintana vs Williams on June 7

Cotto vs Margarito on July 27

Paquiao vs diaz should be full of action

Edison Miranda is also a fun guy to watch.

and do yourself a favor avoid Julio cesar chavez jr fights because he fights Nobody's, Mayweather because he'll never give you have fight just a jogging lesson Bernard hopkins fights are just plain boring and de la hoya fights are more hype then anything else.

  2. boxing is my second favorite sport after baseball and sometimes boxing is my favorite idk but in any way nothing is better than boxing..... its really cool to see martial arts but in terms of fighting boxing is my fav..... so no not go away it needs a BIG boost we need another tyson or something but never that it would go away

    thanks

but i can see why you feel that way now

  3. no. mma is boring.

  4. I couldn't care less about he UFC monkeys (I'm interested in sports, not brawling hooligans), but sadly I share some of your feelings about boxing.

I wouldn't want it to go away, though, but I'd like a real crisis, if it meant a heavy restructuring of the whole system in the aftermath. As it is now, I can't see that the four organizations will ever become fewer (when clearly they should), so all one can hope for is that the sport will fall so hard that they can't all be profitable anymore.

Either one of them will survive, or all go away - then like a phoenix from the ashes rises ONE boxing organization, run by a bunch of good, clever people who realize that you don't need friggin' 17 different weight classes, but maybe just ten. Today, there are 67 (sixty-seven!) "world champions," and still some people wonder why nobody cares anymore.

Under the new rule, there would be ten world champions, the title would mean something again, nobody would question the champions' climb to success, and the wonderful sport of boxing would get a new era of glory.

I'd like to see that happen before I run out of old fights to watch.

  5. I have a really neat idea, Ihop:  Why don't YOU go away?  If we miss you we'll call and you can come back; if not, well, you can figure it out.

Do you know what a troll is?  Look in the mirror.  You're not fooling anyone.

BTW, do those guys like it when you "hop" them?

    Great clip, Elmer!

  6. This is depend on what you find exciting. Some people like to worship an idol so they rather watch Mike Tyson knock everyone out. Those fights are very one sided. Nowaday, the champions are not strong and formidable so going into a championship fight, one has to guess who are going to win, some people find that exciting. I watch both boxing and mma and I have respect for both. Of course, boxing always come first because it has been around much longer and already earned its respect. This is to Aceman, if you watch mma like you claim then you should know that Chuck Liddell is one of the very few mma fighter who refuse to go to the ground, he always KO his opponent with big right hand, he fight pretty much like a boxer. The fight that Elmer show on you tube is funny but that is between two nobodies in mma. Former world heavyweight champion Ray Mercer did try to fight in mma and lost to Kimbo Slice. I agree that boxing is better but mma is not p**n.

  7. ''MACHO MACHO MAN I WANNA BE A MACHO MAN''

HUUUUUUUUGE thumbs up to Elmer I haven't laughed that hard in weeks!!!!

Boxing is ebb and flow my friend, a couple of bad years then BOOM!!!! We get 07' now 08' and boxing is back and better than ever. Love or hate Mayfeather u wanna see him fight hoping someone takes his head off. The Heavyweights are boring but David Haye and Alexander Potvetkin are stars on the rise. The lower weights have an army of great fighters which we have seen the last year that bring it every time.

Boxing was in a lull in the late 80's then along came Tyson and the sport was energized.

I would rather watch 2 warriors like Pavlik and Taylor  or Pacman and Marquez go at it fist to fist then 2 guys in tights dry humping and choking, fondling stroking and enjoying each others manhood until 1 taps out. I used to watch MMA 10 years ago so I know what I'm saying. Nowadays the fights look more like g*y snuff films than fights.

MMA is great to watch if your alone at home in your basement, have a bottle of scented oil and a Chuck Lidell inflatable doll to ''choke'' ''grapple'' and put into a DEEP submission.

Boxing will always be here, MMA has there fans as well but no the sweet science will NEVER go away only get stronger.

And wait until after the Olympics, a new generation will carry the sport and MMA will still be soft core p**n.

I WANNA BE A MACHO MAN!!!!

    P.S.Dont forget the oil!

  8. Anyone that can't find exciting boxing matches doesn't know where to look.  OH WAIT!  I GET WHAT YOU MEAN BY AN EXCITING FIGHT,  here, go and enjoy this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBVyAaC3v...

You're right, you won't find that kind of action in boxing.

  9. Actually, boxing had a banner year last year. Just don't watch Mayweather or Hopkins fights - they are snoozers.
